The online casino games played on the Internet are becoming more and more popular as people discover they can have fun and even have the chance to win real money by playing online. Online Baccarat is a simple game to learn to play. In fact, winning at Baccarat depends more on luck than experience, so even if you have never played before, your odds of winning are the same as someone who has been playing Baccarat for years.

In Baccarat, you see two hands made up of cards from a standard 52-card deck. All you have to do is predict which hand will come closer to nine when the cards are added together. If you think the hands will add up to the same amount, you can even bet on a tie.

The Rules of Baccarat

In Baccarat, you are betting on which hand will win. There is the "Player's" hand and the the "Banker's" hand. At the beginning of the game, you first decide how much you wish to wager by clicking on the chip selector button. Once you have selected an amount that you want to wager, you decide on whether to bet with the Player's hand, the Banker's hand, or a Tie. You make your selection by clicking on the word Player, Banker, or Tie that is printed on the virtual baccarat table. Each hand is then dealt two or three cards.

Under the rules of baccarat, all tens and face cards (King, Queen, and Jack) have a value of zero. Aces are considered to be ones. All other cards have the value of their number. A five is 5, an eight is 8, and so forth. The key baccarat rule is that when you add up the total of the hand, only the "ones" digit counts. So if a hand adds up to eighteen, it is really considered an eight.

How To Win At Baccarat

If you bet that the Player's hand would be closer to nine, and it is, you will win twice the amount of your bet. If you bet on the Banker's hand, you will also win twice your bet, less a five percent "house" commission. If you took a chance that both the Player and the Banker will have the same hand, and it is, you will win eight times your wager. A $12 bet could lead to almost $100 if you bet correctly on a Tie. If you did not bet on a tie and the hands are even, your bet is returned to you.

Remember, only the last digit in the card total counts in the game of baccarat. Let's say a hand has a 6, an 8, and a 9. Together that adds up to 23. But in Baccarat terms only the last digit counts, so that hand would have a value of 3.

To maximize your winnings, a good baccarat strategy is to carefully select the amount you want to wager and the hand you want to wager on. Remember that the Banker's hand wins the most often, but you have to pay a commission on a winning bet. The Player's hand wins less frequently, but you get to keep all your winnings without paying a commission. The Tie bet wins relatively infrequently, but it has the highest payout when it does win at baccarat. So keep these factors in mind when you are deciding where to place your baccarat bet. Then let the computer do the rest. If you are playing Baccarat in an online casino, any winning bets will be automatically added to your credit total.
