Baccarat Sophistication on the Go
Baccarat’s exact origins are unknown, but it is widely believed to have originated in Italy during the mid-1400s. With an aura of sophistication and it being not as well-known as other games like Blackjack and Roulette, many people imagine it is difficult to play.
Nothing, however, could be further from the truth! While the game is endlessly fascinating, its rules are simple and easy to master. And if you’re playing at All Jackpots mobile casino, you can take the fun and the best bonuses in Canada with you wherever you go.
Baccarat 101: Basics for Beginners
The principles of the mobile versions of this game are the same as those for desktop and land-based variations. In Italian it is known as Baccara, which means “zero” in their language. This is because the face cards hold a value of 0.
Aces are worth 1, and number cards carry their stated pip value. To determine a hand total, the cards are added together and the 10-value placeholder is dropped. For example, a hand with a 2 and a 10 would be worth 2, and not 12.
There are 2 hands in every game; the Banker and the Player. These are just the names; they don’t refer to who holds the hand or controls it. Baccarat is unique among card games in that all you can do is bet on the outcome; you can’t make any moves to affect the hand itself.
What you need to do is bet on the outcome of every round. The 3 possibilities are that the Banker hand wins, the Player hand wins, or the hands tie. You’re paid out 1:1 for backing the winning hand, less 5% commission in the case of the Banker.
A correct tie prediction gets you an incredible 8:1 return, but be warned; the higher reward comes with much greater risk. The odds of a tie in a game of Baccarat are just 9.53%! Only go for this wager after you’ve had some playing experience, and are feeling very lucky.
Baccarat Gameplay
You’ll place your bet before the cards are dealt, and then watch to see what happens. Each hand gets 2 cards to start with, and another is dealt to the Dealer or the Banker hand based on what the totals are. The best possible total is a 9 on these first 2 cards; this is known as a Natural and wins automatically.
If a Natural doesn’t occur, the highest total wins before or after any more required cards are dealt. Don’t worry about when this needs to happen; we keep track of all those rules for you. And that’s really it! As soon as the round is finished, you can play again.
